The Bar Human Rights Committee has added its signature to an open letter to President Putin calling for a repeal of the ‘foreign agents law’ that is used to stigmatise civil society organisations in Russia.

The letter, signed by 148 organisations around the world, was handed in to the Presidential Administration on Thursday 20 November. The law is¬†being used by the Russian authorities to stigmatise NGOs by registering them as ‘foreign agents’ without their consent or prior court decision.¬†
