The Bar Human Rights Committee of England and Wales (BHRC) will host a hybrid panel event on Monday, 18 November 2024, at 18:00 GMT (online). In-person registration will open at 17:30 GMT. This event marks the launch of our latest trial observation report, authored by Darryl Hutcheon (Matrix Chambers) and Natasha Jackson (Landmark Chambers), following their visit to the Israeli military courts in the West Bank
Over a three-week period in January and February 2023, BHRC members Darryl Hutcheon and Natasha Jackson conducted several days of observations of the military courts and fact-finding with available stakeholders on the ground. Their forthcoming report, underpinned by their observations of the commission of the military courts in Ofer and Salem, presents a snapshot of these operations at the military courts and potential concerns regarding violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law.
