The Bar Human Rights Committee of England and Wales (“BHRC”) releases today, 4th April 2014, a statement expressing concern over the prosecution and conviction of Malaysian human rights lawyer Karpal Singh for the crime of sedition.    

In the statement, the BHRC calls on the Government of Malaysia to support the quashing of the conviction of Karpal Singh and to repeal the Sedition Act of 1948.
