The Bar Human Rights Committee of England and Wales (BHRC) will host an online panel event on Thursday, 20 March 2025, at 1-2 pm (online). This inspiring roundtable discussion will centre on celebrating International Women’s Day 2025 and Women’s History Month, exploring this year’s theme of ‘Accelerating Action’ and what it means to female human rights defenders all over the world. This thought-provoking session will examine the role of women at the Bar as catalysts for change, and will spotlight the urgent need to enhance protections for female human rights defenders globally.
Speakers from the BHRC Executive Committee Jo Cecil KC, Gráinne Mellon, Isabella Kirwan and Haydée Dijkstal, will share their experiences using advocacy to drive meaningful human rights progress.
